Beautiful/Decay book #6...FUTURE PERFECT

I just received my advance copy of the latest Beautiful/Decay (book #6)…titled/themed FUTURE PERFECT.

My painting, “flex”, is featured in this publication! (see attached image).

FYI…
As always, these are a limited edition book (1500 printed) and can be difficult to find (they sell-out every book!!).  The Nerman Museum Store will be carrying a few of them once they are released to the public.

Fiona Ackerman's faux messy paintings...

I’m loving these faux messy paintings by Fiona Ackerman. I included the above studio shot because it’s actually hard to tell what you’re looking at if you just look at the paintings alone. I can’t tell where real shadows are, what’s collaged (there’s actually no collage in the work!) and what is painted with a quick stroke of the brush and what parts used a 00 brush and lots of patience!

KU Hospital expansion commission

I recently completed these three paintings for a special commission by the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City. The space is great! The new facilty is 6 levels and boasts some wonderful works by local and national artists on floors 2-6...my paintings can be found on the 5th floor. The space will be open to the public beginning next week (July 18th).  I stopped by this morning to see how the pieces look in their new home, and snapped these quick shots with my phone.

Here are some better images of the works:
